Apparently it comes in 1 GB and 2 GB versions. So it's an iPod Shuffle from a few years ago, only a bit bigger and comes with shittier software.
On the plus side it has an FM radio. Which is great if you err get the DLR to work and don't want to miss Desert Island Discs.
I just stay in bed and listen till Woman's Hour comes on anyway.

This looks exactly like and has the exact same features (radio, voice recorder, USB mass storage, plays MP3 and WMA) as the sort of cheap MP3 player you can buy from Hong Kong for about twenty quid. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it is one, just with the Sony logo slapped on it. At least then it wouldn't catch on fire.
actually I think it could. the sony logo is like a sygil that renders anything it marks as inflammable.
sony could burn water if only they could somehow write their name on it.
in fact, their R+D department is hard at work on that very problem as a power source for the ps4.
