For a man who was always a name and never a number, I guess his number was up.
Also, he was probably on set when Debby Harry got her kit off in Videodrome, ergo, he may have seen her inevitably (then) beautiful muff. Let's hope this no doubt enduring image accompanied his final hours.

Whoops. After a quick bit of Googling it would appear I have commited the horrendous faux pas of confusing Scanners with Videodrome.
I shall now ready my body for the new arsehole it wil be torn by the marauding sci-fi fans.

Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Mountalban Merino AKA Ricardo Mountalban, best known for his role in Fantasy Island, has also just died. Mountalban also appeared in Star Trek, Hawaii Five-O, The Man From U.N.C.L.E, Bonanza.
In no way is that a made up name.
