You probably have to take the batteries out, as with normal rechargable batteries; you could also install UV lighting on the inside of your torch, or buy a transparent torch.
These would be great for long haul campers and suchlike, or, yes, the military.

Fortunately, the sun shines out of my arse.
It is well known that we discourage long haul campers with batteries UP THEIR ARSES. Except in The Guards and the Navy of course.

The only downside is they take 30 years to charge and then only last for 5 minutes.
